The first question one may ask is "do they make rum on Rum Cay?" Unfortunately, no. Once named Santa Maria de la Conception that all changed when a keg of rum washed up on shore.
Once the home of kindly pirates, well perhaps the pirates still remain, this island still has an essence of the "Arrgh" factor. Or at least be armed with a sabre! Rum Cay is known for it's quiet solitude and is often referred to as "The Unspoiled Jewel of the Bahamas" . And it's also well known for the great sport fishing so easily accessible from the marina. Wahoo, Blue Marlin, Tuna, Mahi-mahi & awesome deep dropping are found throughout the year.

So what's there to do in Rum Cay besides drink rum & fish?
Diving
Some of the best diving in the Carribbean is right here. But there are no tanks for rent on the island. Actually you won't even find a dive instructor. So you have to come fully equipped to enjoy these pristine coral reefs teeming with reef fish.
Water Sports
The only water sports you'll find on Rum Cay is synchronized swimming. Many beautifully choreographed routines can be learned to music such as Margheritaville by Jimmy Buffet or Drunk Again by Geno D.
Beachcombing
Miles of deserted beaches allows you the freedom to roll naked in the softest sand you will ever find. Pink coral gives this sand a warm pinkish glow. Search for numerous kinds of shells or sea glass. Maybe you'll even find a message in a bottle.
Bonefishing
Here's a great chance to throw some lines for bonefish. And there's nothing like hanging in the Salt Pond Rum Cay native, Billy Gaitor. He will guide you to all the best spots in Rum Cay.
